Road Rage Award: Chevy Rock-n-Roll 400

Robby Gordon & Sterling Marlin

Robby Gordon in time out for road rage

On a night with everything on the line for several bubble drivers, it was two guys way back in the standings that were the most on edge.

This week’s ‘Road Rage Award’ easily goes to Sterling Marlin and Robby Gordon. The laid-back Southern hick and the fast-talkin California hotshot. What a combination. Their collective blood was boiling hot in contrast to their current ice cold racing careers.

Sterling Marlin's been in a fight
Lap 90, Gordon taps Marlin into the wall. Oops.

Sterling, stewing in his car for over 220 laps, finds the perfect time to use the same turn-right-instead-of-left-move that Dale Jarrett used at Bristol to smash up Robby Gordon.

Hey Sterling, this ain’t no demolition derby at the Tennessee State Fair Grounds. I know your on edge ’cause you ain’t got a ride for 2006, but jeesh. And for you Robby. Your actions are over the top. I think you’d agree. And that’s why I like you. But c’mon boys. Stop the road ragin’.
